WTSC Archive Project

An update on ongoing development

The executive committee in 2018 proposed an archive project to systematically collect and preserve our history of school operations commencing in 1988. Documentation of WTSC’s activities was limited, as priority was given to daily operations managed by a volunteer committee that is re-elected annually.

This archive project officially commenced in 2019, with active efforts to collect historical materials. However, progress was significantly hindered and ultimately halted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The archive project was reactivated by the 2023 executive committee, with the invaluable assistance of the former committee members. This dedicated effort led to the collection and showcase of materials at Kalai Vizha (KV) 2023. These collections were subsequently handed over to the IT team for scanning and uploading to the WTSC website. As of 2024, 14 years of KV magazines have been successfully digitised.

The 2025 executive committee acted to expand on this archive project deliverables, focusing on digitising all available hard copies of KV magazines, annual reports, and past KV videos. It was committed to converting physical records into a comprehensive digital archive.

WTSC committee hopes that successive committees will follow path and uphold these objective as it is important to preserve our history.

While in 2025, significant progress was made, some historical information remains elusive. Anyone possessing copies of historical KV magazines, annual reports, or past KV videos that are not already part of the collections exhibited can assist us by getting in touch (info@wtsc.org.au). Your contributions are crucial to helping us build a complete historical record of WTSC.

தமிழ் பாடசாலையில் ஆவணப்படுத்தல் நிகழ்ச்சித் திட்டம்

அன்புடையீர் இத்திட்டமானது 2018ஆம் ஆண்டில் முன்மொழிக்கப்பட்டு பலதடைகள் (COVID-19 pandemic) காரணமாக ஒத்திவைக்கப்பட்டு மீண்டும் 2023 ஆம் ஆண்டில் இருந்து முன்னெடுக்கப்படுகிறது. முதற்கட்டமாக 2023ஆம் ஆண்டின் கலை விழாவின்போது கண்டறியப்பட்ட புத்தகங்கள் பார்வைக்கு காட்சிப்படுத்தப்பட்டது. இவற்றில் 14 புத்தகங்கள் scan செய்யப்பட்டு 2024ஆம் ஆண்டில் எமது வலைத்தளத்தில் பதிவிடப்பட்டது. இதன் தொடர்ச்சி 2025ஆம் ஆண்டில் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. இவ் ஆவணப்படுத்தலின் தொடர்ச்சி தொடர்ந்து வரும் காலங்களிலும் முன்னெடுக்கப்படும்.

எமது தமிழ் பாடசாலை நீண்ட வரலாற்றினை கொண்டது. தவிர்க்க முடியாத காரணங்களால் எம்மால் சகல பதிவுகள் அடையாளப்படுத்தப்பட முடியவில்லை. இவற்றினை தந்துதவ விரும்பின் பாடசாலை நிர்வாகத்துடன் தொடர்பு கொண்டு தந்துதவவும் நன்றி.
